About DA
DA Exterminating was founded in 1959. Based in New Orleans, DA was formed when Mr. E.J. D’Arensbourg decided to parlay his success as a salesman at Orkin into a successful business of his own. In 1963, E.J. took on a partner, Ralph “Putsy” Caballero. Mr. Caballero also had a pest control sales background.
DA Marine Fumigation, Inc. was created in 1974 with the technical assistance of Mr. D’Arensbourg’s father-in-law, Max Isbill, a legendary figure at Orkin for many years.
In 1991, DA Exterminating formed another sister company, DA Exterminating of St. Tammany, Inc. The company provides a full range of residential and commercial pest and termite control services, and is the North Shore’s leader in the termite pre-construction market. Rick Caballero (Putsy’s son) runs the day-to-day operations of DA Exterminating of St. Tammany.
A third sister corporation, DA Exterminating of Houma Inc., was created in the late 1960s. It primarily services the parishes of Lafourche and Terrebonne. David Cherry runs that branch operation.
Sadly, Mr. D’Arensbourg passed away in 1992. His wife, Maxine D’Arensbourg, who brought many fresh ideas to DA Exterminating years beforehand, assumed the mantle of President in 1992. She led the company in that capacity until 1997, when son Jed D’Arensbourg became President and who now presides over all DA companies. Jed’s brother, Chris Caire, joined the company in 1994 and serves as Vice President.
Today, DA Exterminating is one of the largest independent, non-franchised pest control companies in Louisiana, and is regularly among the nation’s “Top 100” pest control companies. With a focus on having the best trained staff and outstanding customer service, DA Exterminating has captured several high-profile accounts.
